Laura 

Laura graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) in 2006 and brings extensive experience across education, health and private practice settings.

Laura now holds a small clinical caseload and focuses primarily on mentoring, supporting and leading the Beyond Speech clinical team in her role as Clinical Lead. She works closely with clinicians across all stages of their careers, providing guidance in clinical reasoning, service delivery, supervision and professional growth, with a strong emphasis on high-quality, family-centred care.

Laura began her career as a Speech Language Pathologist with Education Queensland, working across both mainstream and specialist school settings. She later relocated to London, where she worked within the National Health Service (NHS) across a range of paediatric services, including special schools, community clinics and the preschool complex needs team.

​

Since moving to Melbourne over 13 years ago, Laura has worked as a Key Worker and Speech Pathologist in early intervention, held a clinical management role within a busy multidisciplinary private practice, and worked as a sessional clinical educator for Australian Catholic University.

​

Laura has a particular passion for working with young children and their families to support communication and feeding development. She has completed extensive professional development in Orofacial Myology, Hanen parent coaching programs (It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words), Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processing), and has undertaken additional training in AAC, tongue tie, paediatric feeding and PROMPT™.

Laura also has a strong interest in clinical supervision and leadership. She has completed training in the supervision of students and clinicians and, in 2019, participated in the Leadership Victoria Health Sector Leadership Program.

Laura is a Certified Practising Member of Speech.
