Speech Pathologist and Social Groups Leader
Leisl completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne. She began her journey with Beyond Speech as a Therapy Assistant during her studies and has since grown into her role as a Speech Pathologist within the team, bringing with her a strong understanding of the clinic’s collaborative and client-centred approach.
Leisl supports children and adolescents with a wide range of communication needs and is passionate about helping young people build confidence in their communication so they can participate fully in everyday life. She has particular interests in literacy development for school-aged children and speech sound development, and enjoys finding creative, motivating ways to make therapy both effective and fun. Leisl values working closely with families, educators, and support teams to ensure therapy strategies are meaningful, practical, and carry over beyond the therapy room.
Leisl is committed to providing strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming care and strives to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel understood, capable, and empowered. She particularly enjoys supporting children and young people to develop self-awareness and confidence alongside their communication skills.
Leisl has completed additional training in:
Key Word Sign
Hanen: More Than Words Program
Australian Orofacial Myology Collaboration (AOMC) Foundation Course
Outside the clinic, Leisl loves spending time outdoors - chasing waterfalls, paddleboarding at the beach on sunny days, and enjoying moments with her loved ones - as well as unwinding at home with a good book.
Leisl is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia.
