This group is a creative space for children in Prep to Grade 4 to explore music, make friends, and build confidence through playful, hands-on activities.

This holiday group offers children the chance to connect with peers through music, movement, and cooperative play. Each session is designed to create rich opportunities for practising listening, following instructions, turn-taking, and working together—all within a supported, low-pressure environment.

To ensure every child feels included and confident, we use visual schedules and neuroaffirming strategies that promote predictability, flexibility, and a sense of safety. The group is run by a Music Therapist and the support of a Speech Pathology Therapy Assistant, ensuring activities are both fun and purposeful.

Over the three afternoons together, children will:
🎵 Play a variety of instruments – from drums and xylophones to maracas and bells, giving everyone a chance to explore rhythm, melody, and sound.
🎶 Sing familiar and new songs to support memory, communication, and self-expression.
💃 Move to music through action songs, parachute games, and creative movement activities that encourage body awareness and coordination.
✨ Create musical stories and soundscapes using instruments and props, sparking imagination and teamwork.
🫧 Enjoy sensory play with music, such as bubbles, scarves, and rhythm sticks, helping children regulate their emotions while having fun.
🎨 Wind down with relaxing music and drawing, giving children space to reflect, relax, and express themselves creatively at the end of each session.

Music therapy activities are designed to support children’s social skills, communication, emotional regulation, confidence, and creativity. Working together in a group helps children practise turn-taking, listening, and cooperation, while also giving them space to shine as individuals.

No prior music experience is needed — just curiosity and a love of fun!
