This group is designed for children for ages 3-7 who enjoy music, movement, creativity, and having fun with others.
Over this two-hour music therapy-based group, children will have the opportunity to explore rhythm, sound, movement, instruments, and musical games in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.
The group is facilitated by our very own Music Therapist, Helena, who is amazing at creating a supportive environment where music and movement provide natural opportunities to develop communication, social interaction, confidence, and self-expression.
During the 2-hour session, children will:
🥁 Explore instruments and rhythms – experimenting with drums, percussion, and other instruments while developing listening, turn-taking, coordination, and shared attention.
🎵 Make music together – joining in group music-making activities, practising cooperation, following musical cues, and contributing their own ideas.
🕺 Get moving with music – participating in fun movement games, action songs, freeze dances, and rhythm-based activities to support body awareness, coordination, confidence, and flexible thinking.
🎤 Express themselves through music – using their voice, instruments, movement, or other forms of communication to make choices, share ideas, and express themselves in ways that feel comfortable.
🎶 Play musical games – taking part in interactive games that encourage turn-taking, listening, responding to others, initiating interactions, and navigating changes in activities.
🌟 Create and celebrate together – finishing with a shared musical experience where children can celebrate their participation, creativity, and contributions to the group.
Each activity is thoughtfully designed to provide natural opportunities for children to practise key social communication and self-regulation skills—such as initiating interactions, taking turns, expressing needs and preferences, responding to others, managing changes, and participating as part of a group.
Our Music & Movement Group offers a fun, creative, and supportive environment where children can connect with others, express themselves, build confidence, and explore the joy of making music and moving together—all while having a great time! 🎵✨
Location: Healesville Primary School.
This group will run for 1 session on Thursday, October 1st, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Places are limited to 8 children.
The cost for the program is $208.29 per participant.
No Medicare rebate is available. For Self Managed and Plan Managed clients, an invoice will be issued for you to claim funds from your NDIS plan. Please discuss eligibility for reimbursement directly with NDIS or your plan manager. Please note: Beyond Speech is not liable for any declined reimbursements from NDIS.
Refunds are not available for cancellations or non-attendance to any session.
Terms and Conditions
Note: Only children in the grades specified will be admitted to each group. Registration is subject to approval by clinical staff at Beyond Speech. We aim to create groups that are the best fit for all participants, so programs are subject to change based on enrolment numbers and group dynamics to ensure a positive and supportive experience for everyone involved.
Note: All social groups are subject to minimum enrolment numbers. Where the minimum number of registrations is not met, Beyond Speech reserves the right to cancel the group. In this event, you will be notified with appropriate notice.
