Acerca de

This group is for children in Grade 4 - Grade 6 who are interested in participating in hands-on experiences like baking, science experiments, collaborative games, and creative challenges.

To ensure every child feels included and confident, we use visual schedules and neuroaffirming strategies that promote predictability, flexibility, and a sense of safety. The group is run by a Speech Pathologist and the support of a Speech Pathology Therapy Assistant, ensuring activities are both fun and purposeful.

Over the sessions together, children will:
🍕 Cook together – making mini pizzas, cupcakes, and other simple recipes while practising following instructions, negotiating roles, and sharing materials.
🎲 Play group games – from “Guess Who?” to scavenger hunts and obstacle courses, encouraging turn-taking, flexible thinking, and teamwork.
🎭 Explore storytelling and role-play – acting out scenarios, putting on puppet shows, or running a pretend shop to practise problem-solving, perspective-taking, and conversational exchanges.
🧩 Work on collaborative projects – building LEGO creations, tackling STEM challenges, or creating group artworks, supporting skills like giving directions, asking for help, and sharing ideas.
💬 Join circle time chats – reflecting on the day, practising listening, sharing, and building social confidence in group discussions.

Each activity is thoughtfully designed to provide natural opportunities for children to practise key social communication skills—such as initiating and maintaining conversations, expressing needs and feelings, working with peers, and navigating group dynamics.

Our holiday group offers a supportive and inclusive environment where children can connect with others, try new experiences, and grow their communication skills—all while having a great time.
