Getting your clients ready for NDIS?
Do they need non-electronic communication aids?

You can get these funded by including the item Assistive Technology (Communication and information equipment) in their NDIS Plan.

You will need to supply a letter of support outlining what items would be of benefit for your client and why.

Save yourself time and effort by downloading this letter template. Included is a copy of Scope's brochure "How to design a Communication Aid" from the Non Electronic Communication Aid Scheme (NECAS), which details various aids and equiptment available for order and how to request a quote from Scope for these to be supplied to the NDIS.

All the hard work has been done for you.  This template includes a number of paragraphs for you to select from and edit to fit the profile of your client.    It includes a range of non-electronic aids that may be relevant to your client and provides you with a framework to build upon.  So far, this letter template has received positive feedback from people working in NDIS planning.

This template is designed primarly for paediatric clients but could be adapted easily for adults.  Links to SCOPE's adults NECAS program have also been included.
