Laura MacDonalD

Speech Pathologist and Clinical Lead

Laura graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours).

 

Laura’s first role was as a Speech Language Pathologist with Education Queensland, working across both mainstream and special school settings. She later moved to London, working for the National Health Service (NHS) across several paediatric settings including special schools, community clinics and the preschool complex needs team.

 

Since moving to Melbourne 10 years ago, Laura has worked as a Key Worker/Speech Pathologist in early intervention, and as a clinical manager at a busy multidisciplinary private practice. She has also worked as a sessional clinical educator for Australian Catholic University.

 

Laura loves working with young children and their families to achieve their communication and feeding goals. Laura has completed training in Orofacial Myology, Hanen parent coaching programs (It Takes Two To Talk and More Than Words), Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processing) and additional courses related to tongue tie, paediatric feeding and PROMPT™️.

 

Laura also enjoys providing clinical supervision. She has attended training in clinical supervision of students, and in 2019, participated in the Leadership Victoria Health Sector Leadership Program.

Laura is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia.
