Nicole Broughton

Music Therapist

Nicole graduated from Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC Canada with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy and holds a Diploma in Music with a piano concentration from Douglas College in New Westminster, BC Canada.

 

Nicole is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) in Australia and a Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) in Canada. In her professional career, she has worked with a range of populations including children with autism and down syndrome, adults with traumatic brain injuries, older adults living with chronic mental illness, and seniors living in long term care facilities and hospice.

 

Nicole pursued a career in music therapy because it combines her passion for music and the desire to make meaningful differences in others’ lives. Her other related work experience includes working as an early childhood music educator in the Musikgarten curriculum, private piano and guitar instruction, and creating and facilitating specialised music classes for children with a variety of diagnoses and challenges.

 

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys reading, songwriting, performing, spending time with friends and family, running, and yoga.
